Hail, holy Queen,
mother of mercy;
hail, our life, our sweetness,
and our hope !
To thee do we cry,
poor banished children of Eve;
to thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this vale
of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy towards us;
and after this our exile,
show to us the blessed fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving,
O sweet Virgin Mary.
Let nothing disturb you
nothing frighten you.
All things are passing,
God never changes.
Patient endurance
attains all things.
Whom God possesses
in nothing is wanting.
Alone God suffices.
St Teresa of Avila
Those whom we love and lose are
no longer where they were before
they are now wherever we are.
St John Chrysostom.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph I give you my
heart and my soul;Jesus, Mary and Joseph assist me in my
last agony;Jesus, Mary and Joseph may I breathe
forth my soul in peace with you.
Amen.
Father, hear our prayers and console us,
as we renew our faith in your Son,
whom You raised from the dead.
Strengthen our hope that all our
departed loved ones will share
in his Resurrection.
Lord, for your faithful people life is changed, not ended.
When the body of our earthly dwelling lies in death
we gain an everlasting dwelling place in heaven.
Preface 1.
We adore thee, O Christ
and we praise thee.
Because by thy holy cross
thou hast redeemed the world.
All I ask of you
is that wherever you may be
you will always remember me
at the Altar of God.
St Monica.
May the souls of the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God,
rest in peace. Amen.
O holy cross,
under thy shadow
I will rest.
Eternal rest grant unto them,
O Lord, and let perpetual light shine
upon them.
We proclaim your Death, O Lord,
and profess your Resurrection
until you come again.
When we eat this Bread and drink this Cup,
we proclaim your Death, O Lord,
until you come again.
Save us, Saviour of the world,
for by your Cross and Resurrection
you have set us free.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now and at the
hour of our death. Amen.
On whose soul,
sweet Jesus, have Mercy.
R.I.P
Pray for me and I shall pray for you
and all your friends that we may meet
merrily in Heaven.
St Thomas More.
O Sacred Heart of Jesus
have mercy on her (his) soul.
O God, help me to remember in my grief
that neither death nor life,
nor angels, nor principalities,
nor powers, nor things present,
nor things to come, nor heights,

May angels lead you into paradise;upon your arrival, may the martyrs receive you
and lead you to the holy city of Jerusalem. May the ranks of angels receive you,
and with Lazarus, the poor

Our Father, who art in Heaven,

Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation,

The Lord's Prayer.
In him, who rose from the dead,
our hope of resurrection dawned.
The sadness of death gives way
to the bright promise of immortality.
Lord, help me to live this day, quietly, easily;to lean on your great strength, truthfully, restfully;to wait for the unfolding of your will, patiently, serenely;to meet others, peacefully, joyfully;to face tomorrow, confidently, courageously.
St Francis of Assisi.

that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection,

In the beginning. . .
God saw all he had made,

Genesis1:31.
I will never forget you:
I have carved you on the palm of my hand.
Isaiah 49.
Yes, it is my Father's will that whoever sees the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life,
and that I shall raise him up on the last day.
John 6:40.
Come to me all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest.
I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls.
Matthew 11 28-29.
I am the resurrection and the life.
He who believes in me will live,
even though he dies; and whoever
lives and believes in me will never die.
John 11 25-26.
In God alone is my soul at rest;my help comes from him.
He alone is my rock, my stronghold,
my fortress; I stand firm.
Psalm 62.
"This is the will of my Father" says the Lord; "That I should lose nothing of all that he has given to me,
And that I should raise it up on the last day".
Jn 6: 39.
He will wipe away all tears from their eyes,
and there will be no more death,
suffering, crying or pain,
these things of the past are gone forever.
Revelations 21:4.
The Lord bless you and keep you;show His face to you and
have mercy on you;turn His countenance to you
and give you peace.
Numbers 6: 24-26.
O God, you are my God, for you I long;for you my soul is thirsting.
My body pines for you
like a dry, weary land without water.
So I gaze on you in the sanctuary
to see your strength and your glory.
For your love is better than life,
my lips will speak your praise.
So I will bless you all my life,
in your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul shall be filled as with a banquet,
my mouth shall praise you with joy.
Psalm 63 (62).
There is one thing I ask of the Lord,
for this I long,
to live in the house of the Lord,
all the days of my life,
to savour the sweetness of the Lord,
to behold his temple.

I am sure I shall see the Lord's goodness
in the land of the living.
Hope in him, hold firm and take heart.
Hope in the Lord!
Psalm 27 (26).
"Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as
these that the kingdom of God belongs. I tell you solemnly, anyone who
does not welcome the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."
Then he put his arms round them, laid his hands on them and gave them
his blessing.
Matthew 19:14.
Preserve me, God, I take refuge in you.
I say to the Lord: "You are my God.
My happiness lies in you alone."

O Lord, it is you who are my portion and cup;it is you yourself who are my prize.
The lot marked out for me is my delight:
welcome indeed the heritage that falls on me!

I will bless the Lord, who gives me counsel,
who even at night directs my heart.
I keep the Lord ever in my sight:
since he is at my right hand, I shall stand firm.

And so my heart rejoices, my soul is glad;even my body shall rest in safety.
For you will not leave my soul among the dead,
nor let your beloved know decay.

You will show me the path of life,
the fullness of joy in your presence,
at your right hand happiness for ever.
Psalm 16 (15)
No Prayer, Scripture or Verse, leave blank
Death is nothing at all,
I have only slipped into the next room
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near,
just round the corner.
All is well.
Henry Scott Holland.
Don't think of her/him as gone away,
her /his journey's just begun.
Life holds so many facets,
this earth is only one.
Just think of her /him as resting,
from the sorrows and the tears,
in a place of warmth and comfort,
where there are no days or years.
Think how she/he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away;and think of her/him as living
in the hearts of those she/he touched,
for nothing loved is ever lost,
and she/he was loved so much.
Ellen Brenneman.
We have loved her (him) in life, let us not forget her (him) in death.
St Ambrose.
To those who believe in you, O Lord, life is changed not taken away.
Requiescat in pace.
In Loving Memory.
Remember Me.
Loved, remembered and held so dear,
in minds and hearts you are always here.
Trust the past to the mercy of God,
the present to his love,
the future to his providence.
Those who die in grace go no further from us than God and God is very near.
Memory is a loving thing
it lasts the longest day
it can never be spent,
never be lent,
never be taken away.
Your life was spent in freely giving,
and all it meant made life worth living.
We say "Goodnight" and not "Goodbye",
as wings of flight lift you on high.
Sleep and rest, have peace and calm.
Forever blessed in Heaven's arms.
If I should go tomorrow,
it would never be goodbye,
for I have left my heart with you,
so don't you ever cry.
The love that's deep within me,
shall reach you from the stars,
you'll feel it from the heavens,
and it will heal the scars.
A rose once grew
where all could see,
Sheltered beside
a garden wall,
And as the days passed
swiftly by,
it spread its branches, straight and tall...
One day, a beam of light
shone through
a crevice that had
opened wide ~
The rose bent gently
toward its warmth
then passed beyond
to the other side.
Now, you who deeply
feel its loss,
be comforted ~ the rose blooms there ~
its beauty even greater now,
nurtured by
God's own loving care.
A L Frink.
My Mother, who gave me the best of her life, who cherished my secrets,
my sorrows, my strife, who taught me to love, who taught me to pray,
my Mother in Heaven, God bless her today.
Guardian Angel from Heaven so bright,
watching beside me to lead me aright,
fold thy wings around me and guard me with your love,
softly sing songs to me of Heaven above.
When I am gone, release me, let me go
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love, you can only guess
how much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown.
But now it's time I travelled on alone.
So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must.
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a while that we must part,
so bless the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away, for life goes on.
So if you need me, call me and I will come.
Though you can't see me or touch me I'll be near.
All of my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and say,
"Welcome Home".
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways.
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun.
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
Carol Mirkel.
When tomorrow starts without me
and I'm not there to see
if the sun should rise and find your eyes
all filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
the way you did today;while thinking of the many things
we didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me
as much as I love you;and each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me
please try to understand,
that an angel came and called my name
and took me by the hand.
If I could relive yesterday
just even for a while,
I'd say goodbye and kiss you
and maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized
that this could never be,
for emptiness and memories
would take the place of me.
So when tomorrow starts without me,
don't think we're far apart,
for every time you think of me,
I'm right here in your heart.
I am standing on the sea shore.
A ship at my side spreads her
white sails in the morning breeze
and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and I
stand and watch her until at last
she fades on the horizon.
Then someone at my side says
there, she has gone -
Gone where?
Gone from my sight - that is all
she is just as large in the mast,
hull and spars as she was
when she left my side....
the diminished size
and total loss of sight
is in me and not in her,
and just at the moment when
someone by my side says
"She is gone"
others take up the glad shout
"There she comes"
Bishop Brent.
There is a home that lies beyond -
and past its golden door awaits the one
who's now away not lost - just gone before
and in that home that lies beyond, the Master
will prepare a place for you, and when he calls
you'll meet your loved ones there.
Grief does not pass away, although in time it softens.
Bereaved but not forgotten, remember I am here.
I will be beside you, even when you feel forsaken, love will be enough.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning.
We will remember them.
Laurence Binyon
And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow.
There midnight's all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow.
WB Yeats.
In the emptiness and silence of our mourning comes the comfort
from on high. With peace in our hearts and the joy that you are
always nearby.
On that day without doubt we shall rise in the brightness of the sun,
that is, in the glory of Christ Jesus our Redeemer.
St Patrick.
Farewell to Thee! but not farewell
to all my fondest thoughts of Thee;within my heart they still shall dwell
and they shall cheer and comfort me.
Life seems more sweet that Thou didst live
and men more true Thou wert one;nothing is lost that Thou didst give,
nothing destroyed that Thou hast done.
Anne Bronte.
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
my soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
for the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday's
most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
with my lost saints, --- I love thee with the breath,
smiles, tears, of all my life! --- and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
E.B Browning.
We give our loved ones back to God, and just as he first gave them to us
and did not lose them in the giving, so we have not lost them in returning
them to him. For life is eternal, love is immortal, death is only a horizon and
a horizon is nothing but the limit of our earthly sight.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond that glints in the snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am the uplifting rush
of quiet birds' encircled flight;I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.
Mary Elizabeth Frye.
Softly in the morning you heard a gentle call,
you took the hand of God offered you,
and quietly left us all.
The day you left us Mother, our hearts just broke in two,
the smallest part is still with us, and the biggest part
with you.
We miss your smile, your joking ways, we miss the things
you used to say, and when old times we do recall
it's then we miss you most of all.
You were always there when we needed you, no task
too great or small, with loving heart and willing hands,
for us you did it all.
Look around your garden Lord, and when she turns and smiles,
put Your arms around her and hold her for a while.
Those we love remain with us
for love itself lives on
and cherished memories never fade
because a loved one's gone.
Those we love can never be
more than a thought apart,
for as long as there is memory
they'll always live on in our hearts.
May the road rise up to meet you,
may the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face
and the rains fall soft upon your fields;May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Matthew V5:5.
In the beginning. . .
God saw all he had made,
and indeed it was very good.
